Application procedure
All applicants are advised to schedule an online appointment prior to applying for their visa. Personal appearance at the German Embassy is mandatory.
Fees
Visa fees are payable in Nepalese Rupees. Fees are set in Euros; therefore, the equivalent in Nepali currency may vary depending on the exchange rate. The full fee is payable at the time of application, and is non-refundable if the visa application is rejected. The visa fee is 75,00 EUR.
Processing Time
Since your application must be forwarded to the competent authority in Germany, processing takes at least 4-6 weeks.
Following documents are needed:
Valid passport (issued within the last 10 years and with at least 3 months validity after the scheduled return) with at least two empty pages
- 1 recent biometrical passport photo (not older than six months)
- 1 application form (please use VIDEX)
Signed Declaration on True and Complete Information
Copy of your passport’s data page (A4 size copy) + last page
Citizenship Certificate
Birth Certificate
Self-written Motivation Letter and Bio Data Sheet (CV)
Contract from the German employer with the conditions of your employment in Germany, including payment, accommodation (if applicable) and health insurance
- Training plan (Ausbildungsplan)
- Erklärung zum Beschäftigungsverhältnis
Proof of qualification (if applicable: school leaving certificate and mark sheets, Higher Secondary education board certificate and mark sheets, proof of previous studies in the relevant field, (e.g. B.A. transcripts), proof of previous internships in the relevant field
- Proof of knowledge of the German language (B1). Only certificates from the following institutions can be recognized: Goethe Center Kathmandu in Thapathali, or VHS Bhaktapur.
pre approval letter (“Vorabzustimmung”) from the competent Labour Office in Germany (Bundesagentur für Arbeit) - if applicable -
Health Insurance and Flight Booking – to be provided only after approval of visa
Visa fee (equivalent of Euro 75,00 in NPR)
All documents have to be provided in German or English language or together with a certified translation.
Please note that the German Embassy reserves the right to ask for additional documents or an additional interview
Submission of the above mentioned documents does not guarantee that a visa is granted.
Submission of incomplete documentation may result in the rejection of your application. Please note that the German Embassy reserves the right to forward fake documents submitted during the visa process to the police.
