General information

The Certificate of Good Conduct or Police Clearance Certificates is issued by the Federal Central Register (Bundeszentralregister) of the German Federal Office for Justice.

Applicants residing outside of Germany are required to have their personal data and signature certified on the application form. This certification can be obtained at the German Embassy in Kazhmandu, by a notary public or a foreign authority.

The Certificate of Good Conduct is available in German language only.

Application procedure

Please download the application form, fill in out completly and sign it.

If you wish to obtain the certification from the German Embassy you are required to appear in person and present a valid passport or German identity card (“Personalausweis”) to ensure proper identification. Please bring your original passport and one copy.

Driver licenses, or other government-issued identification documents will not be accepted for this purpose. If you are not currently in possession of a valid passport you are kindly requested to have your signature certified at a local notary public.

After certification the application form has to be sent directly to the Federal Office for Justice (address indicated at the top of the form).

Fees

The German Embassy in Kathmandu charges 56,43 EUR for the certification of your signature. The fees have to be paid when submitting the application.
The fees will be converted into NPR according to the current exchange rate of the Embassy. You may pay in cash.
